2) Fruit of
the month
Fruit of this month is the
special and sweet summer fruit the strawberry. Strawberries are low in
calories, high in vitamin C content, contain much fibers and are delicious!
The more red a fruit, the more
nutritious, so they definitely should be part of your 5-a-day.
The strawberry in its present
form would not have existed without humans, just like many other fruits.
It has been improved by selection from a small berry that still
grows in the wild in woods. It has also been tried to cultivate super-large
boysenberries but as of yet this has not been successful. That's a pity though, we wouldn't
mind delicious boysenberries as large as plums!
Strawberry Tip: Squeeze
two oranges per person and put the juice in a blender with strawberries
and one or two ice-cubes. The more strawberries the better. You really should try this!
