From the name or way they
look it is difficult to find out if a nut is a fruit or a seed. Some nuts
are seeds and others are a fruit with a hard shell.

Peanuts origanally grow in tropical
America and were imported by Europe during the 16th century. The status
of the peanut was a curiousity untill the 19th century. Today peanuts are
grown everywhere in the world and used as a nut, in oil and forage.
